Adjusters
This device allows the player to raise or to lower the string height without the need of a new bridge.
In a research conducted in Cologne, Germany, it was discovered that aluminium is the material that interferes the least in the instrument sound.
It is ideal for those who live in regions where there are sudden temperature and humidity changes. For instance, for those who live in Europe or North America, where there is a cold winter but the houses have heating, the instrument can suffer sudden temperature changes that can cause the strings to drastically change height, moving closer or further away from the fingerboard.
Although a simple device, the adjuster must be installed by a luthier specialized in the double bass and with experience in this job, because a poorly done installation could result in losing the bridge, damaging the instrument or in sound deficiency.

Bow Quiver
Similar to an arrow quiver, the bow quiver allows you to have a safe place for quickly grabbing your bow and putting it away during playing, be it in concerts, in recording sessions or in practice.
It is a must have for orchestra players, because during breaks or long pizzicato sessions the bow is not laying over the music stand or any other inappropriate place vulnerable to accidents.
Our bow quiver is nylon made, which guarantees life-long durability. The inside is coated with a soft cloth which protects the bow and keeps it silent, which is appropriate for recording sessions.
Usually leather made quivers scratch the varnish from the tip of the bow.
Installation is simple and easy, and the same quiver can be removed with the same ease. It ties to the tailpiece with nylon thongs.

Simple handling.
Two piezo pieces are installed under the bridge wings.

We and some of our customers have had Underwood pickups that are over 30 years old and still work.
The pick up allows for playing in live or recording sessions without feedback issues.
The use of a pre-amp is not required;

Bridges
3/4 and 4/4 maple bridges imported from Germany.
Excellent quality.
These bridges are suitable for installing Underwood pickups and other similar models.
Ideally, the bridge should be fitted to your instrument at our Atelier, but you can order a bridge to be installed by a competent luthier in your city.
The bridge is a component that supports the strings and transmits their vibrations to the instrument.
Over time, its fibers wear out, gradually losing their capabilities.
This is why a noticeable difference is observed after its replacement, which should be done every 5 or 6 years.
The bridge must be properly fitted by a responsible luthier and well-maintained by its owner.

Fingerboards
Imported ebony fingerboard.
Ipe fingerboard made in the Workshop.
We work with imported fingerboards and create custom-sized fingerboards to meet all types of needs.
Traditionally, the most used fingerboard is ebony or even rosewood, but fingerboards made of these materials are more affected by string friction and develop grooves in the most used areas.
The only advantage is that they are black and follow an established “standard,” although many preconceived standards are being reevaluated nowadays.
The ipe fingerboard offers greater resistance to this type of wear due to its interwoven grain pattern and has greater durability.
Ideally, the fingerboard should be installed on your instrument at our Atelier, but you can order a fingerboard to be installed by a competent luthier in your city.

Endpins
Endpin designed and developed by Paulo Gomes.
The only endpin on the market that uses a lever system to lock the rod at the desired height. The tubular rod does not bend, unlike solid rods, ensuring the instrument remains stable and free from wobble. It features an anti-rust treatment.
Internally lined with cork, this endpin eliminates any vibration while playing
The rubber tip, designed by Paulo Gomes and exclusively crafted for the Workshop using natural rubber, contains no metal.
You can use the rubber tip when playing on marble or similar floors…
…or opt for the metal tip when performing on wood, carpet, or rugs.
This endpin is significantly lighter than most models available on the market.
With this endpin, your double bass will remain steady and secure during performances. There are no wing screws in contact with the rod.
The locking mechanism operates via a lever, using a clutch-like principle (similar to a mechanical pencil) for a firm hold at any position. To release the rod, simply move the lever.
You can adjust the height needed with the instrument upright, using just one hand.
Ron Carter is one of the many players who have our endpin and tailpiece on their basses.
Wheel Compatibility.
Using a wheel has never been easier with this endpin model. Simply release the lever, remove the rod, and insert the wheel.
Our wheel has the same rod diameter, ensuring a perfect and secure fit. Additionally, the wheel can be positioned in any direction across 360°.
Watch the video below for an example of a poorly designed endpin that causes frustration for musicians.
In this outdated model, the screw must be tightened repeatedly, often stripping the screw or the endpin’s threading.
Moreover, the rod lacks the stability needed to keep the double bass steady, and you’re forced to position the screw exactly at one of the rod’s pre-cut grooves.
You cannot set the instrument at a height between the grooves, even if that’s the ideal height for you.
This video has no sound.
This is one of the worst endpin models available.

Tailpieces
We craft our tailpieces to be lightweight and with minimal muting effect.
We can create custom and personalized designs and measurements.
We use various types of wood depending on the instrument’s sound and what can be improved.
This particular tailpiece was specially made and personalized for Ron Carter.
His name was carved in low relief on the underside.
And a design I took from a T-shirt he had given me many years earlier.
Ron Carter is one of the many players who have our endpin and tailpiece on their basses.
The tailpiece includes magnets on instruments with a removable neck to hold the adjustment key.
This block serves to attach the pickup jack, keeping it hidden behind the tailpiece.

Fast-Fret
Fast-Fret imported from the USA.
Ideal for keeping your bass strings clean and free of grease.
We recommend this product to our clients because it helps strings last more than twice as long as they normally would without regular cleaning.
When we say “last longer,” we’re referring to sound quality. Of course, there are bassists who use the same strings for over 8 years or until they break—but that’s a matter of personal preference.
Using a cleaner like this preserves the brightness and tonal quality of the strings.
Many musicians in Brazil, like Célio Barros, and abroad enjoy playing with strings “lubricated” with Fast-Fret. It’s a non-oily product that makes fingering easier and faster for those who are used to it.
Even if you don’t want to play with the product on the strings, you should still use it after playing and clean the strings about once a week, on average, to get the best results and make your strings feel new for much longer.
I use this product to clean the strings on instruments in my workshop, and I also like to apply it before playing. I confidently recommend its use.
